It's as simple as being nice

I am currently in the airport. Many people complain about how bad the airport can be, and they all make valid points, but I realized that your airport experience can be so much better if you do one thing. Be nice. I learned this while comparing my TSA experience to the woman who was in front of me in security. She pitched a fit and began screaming at one of the TSA security members which then lead both of them to be upset, and the whole ordeal lasting 20 minutes. I thanked that same tsa security woman and she smiled at me and told me to have a great day. If you want to enjoy any experience that involves interacting with others, being nice usually leaves both you and the other person a little bit happier and is more likely to get you what you want. All it takes are kind words and a smile.

The waving challenge

If you are in a crowded room, your car, a concert, or pretty much anywhere with people you should try this out. So today I went to go see a play and I decided that while people were filing in and out of the theater I would try and see what would happen if I started to wave to no one in particular. It was really cool to see people respond to it and it really made me smile. So I challenge you to try this out and let me know where you did it, and how it turned out.

Magnetic nail polishes

So before telling you about these amazing polishes lets get one thing strait. I can not do nails very well. I always struggle to keep the polish on my nail and off of the skin that surronds it, and do not have a lot of patience when it comes to letting my polish dry. If you are like me, or you just want to know an awesome and simple nail look for fall keep reading. Last year was the year of the crackle polish, and this year it is all about magnetic. Magnetic polishes have small magnetic  filements inside them that while the nail polish is still wet, can move into different patterns by holding magnets up to the polish. My favorite magnetic polishes are the ones by nail inc. london that I purchased at sephora. I own both the gray and purple colors (tralfalger square and house of parliament.) For maximum potential I apply a base coat polish, one layer of magnetic polish (DO NOT HOLD THE MAGNET UP TO THE FIRST COAT!!!!) After that coat dries, I apply another coat, then hold the magnet about a centimeter away for my nail for ten seconds. After pulling away you should have an awesome pattern. Do this to each nail, wait for them to dry, then last but not least apply a topcoat. This nail look is so easy and quick, and it looks amazing. I hope you go out and try it soon and see the results. Amazing facial recipe

My skin has been looking pretty bad this week. Not only has my skin been red and oily, but it has also been scabbed. If you have an uneven skin tone, oily skin, acne prone skin, or redness fear not because I have a great mask for you.
Here is what you will need:
1 egg (separated white from yolk)
About a 1/4 tsp. (a light drizzle) of extra virgin olive oil
About a 1/4 tsp. (a light drizzle) of pure honey
1 whisk (smaller the better)
1 small bowl or plastic container for storage
A facial brush (optional)

Steps:
1.  Crack the egg and separate your whites from your yolk (the clear stuff from the yellow).
2. Beat your egg whites with a whisk until it becomes frothy, or bubbles appear on the surface.
3. Add in your yolk and stir it with the whites until well combined.
4. Drizzle in your olive oil then stir.
5. Drizzle in your honey then stir once more until all ingredients are combined well.
6. Use your facial brush or your fingers to apply your mask evenly all over your face.
7. Wait 10-20 minutes till mask is no longer wet to the touch.
8. Rinse mask off with warm water.
9. Save leftovers by putting them in a sealed plastic container in you refrigerator. (should last you for a few days or so.)

Additional Reccomandations.
I prefer to do this before a take a shower and then wash it off while showering.  For maximum benifits after I removed the mask I washed my skin with my face wash ( lush cosmetics herbalism cleanser) applied a toner, a mosturizer, and finally aloe vera gel on all my red spots and scabs.

This sublime quote is one of my favorite because it truelly shows how that, as cheesy as it sounds, we have one life and we have to take advantage of every second we have on this earth. It shows that love is to be found now, that once you find that one you should never let them go. It is one of those lines that when I hear it, I promise to never stop that seemingly endless search to find that elusive"one". Because what else are we supposed to do? Just live and find your way, spend each hour you have enjoying it, discover everything. Learn, think, create, and prepare yourself for the day when true love, what ever that may be finds you, or even better yet, you find it.

September 11, on September 13

I spent a lot of time reflecting on the events of that very same day 11 years ago. The crazy thing I realized that a lot of people my age did not remember what they were doing that day, but I do vividly. School was shut down right around lunch time. At the time me and my sister were going to seperate schools, so I we picked her up after I myself was picked up from school. One of our friends birthday was that day, so we decided that we would go with him and his family to the park to play for the rest of the day. I was a very curious child so of course I asked my mother what was going on. She explained that planes hade started to hit two towers in New York, and that their were other planes that were missing and might hit places far away from us. I remeber not being very scared, but just very imaginative. I kept looking up into the sky, searching for planes up in the pale blue emptiness. I sat on a piece of playground equipment and pulled one of my friends over and asked him to look at the sky with me, to watch out for planes. He said he was busy, so I remained still like that for a long period  of time, gazing like a stargazer would on a cloudy night.
Even at such a young age I was able to take that days  facts with little fear, andoverall just an overpowering sense of fascination. To this day,  I still remain curious about all the details, and have been investing time into researching more about the attacks. I don't think I am fascinated by the distruction. I take it more as an obbligation upon myself to remember all of these tragedies so that later in my life I can tell people my accounts of certain events in an interesting way, so that these valued parts of history will not be left in the shadows. I want to be an avid member of history, and I plan to do so by never forgetting all we have lost in 9/11.

5 Amazing Beauty Investments

From the girl who barely knows how to apply lipgloss to the professional artist, these are five things it's ok to spend a little extra cash on. They are long lasting, good quality products that will provide you with an amazing look.
1. Eyeshadows.A good set of neutral eyeshadow colors. I personally reccomend the Naked2 Pallet by urban decay. It has an amazing range of neutrals that all work really well together and are great for everything from everday makeup to wedding looks. The pigmentation,blendability, and color payoff are out of this world, and with just the right amount of colors to choose from it easy for everyone to navigate and experiment with.
2. Foundation. This stuff is the base to any great makeup look and is one of the most important things to have. A good foundation should make your skin look smooth, even, beautiful, and healthy. I am currently in love with too faced cosmetics foundation in warm vanilla. It gives an amazing coverage and it partnered with the primed and poreless makeup primer powder and topped off with it's complementing setting powder give me great coverage, for a long lasting wear. It also can instantly be transformed into a tinted mosturizer by blending a bit of the liquid foundation with your facial moisturizer.
3. Facewash. Because the healthier your skin, the better your makeup looks. I am currently in love with lush handmade cosmetics herbalsim cleanser and their cupcake mask. They are all natural, fresh, and handmade. Lush Cosmetics has amazing products in general, I definitely reccomend them.
4.Mascara. A good mascara provides your eyes with amazing frames that will accent any makeup look. Eyelashes can always use a little length, volume, or sometimes even just to be a shade darker. I personally love urban decay's super curl curling mascara. It's applicator's u shape makes your lashes curl upwards in just the right way, while still providing long lasting wear and no flaking.
5. Brushes. Investing in a good brush set will make your life so much easier. The better quality your brushes are the longer they will last, which means that you won't have to go invest in more for years after you make the right purchase. I really love ecotools bamboo six piece brush set. It is great for the environment and comes in a stylish package that stores the brushes so well (which makes them perfect to travel with.) It even has a side pocket to hold products you would need to touch up throughout the day.

Human connection

The lack of it is drivning me insane. I feel like a kermit and I honestly can't comprehend why. It's as if i was a lake, and while stones skim the surface, no person has truelly imersed themselves in me. Is it my fault? Or is it everyone elses? The cure?  Dark punk styled makeup, a carmel frappicino, a warm sweatshirt with the head pulled over, loud music, and taking my mind off of things with the blog.
Things are getting a lot better, I won't deny that at all, but it feels difficult to take in victory.  I pull in and out of happy and sad, and it all sort of swirls around me choosing when to attack me. So I wait patiently, and put up with myself because what else is a girl to do?
